BSA Adult Training

Contact our Parent Committee Chair or your scout’s Scoutmaster to find out what training you need to lead Troop 506B or 506G events. Examples of training opportunities include:

  • Youth Protection Training (required)
  • Scoutmaster Training
  • Assistant Scoutmaster Training
  • Parent Leadership Training
  • Outdoor Leadership Skills
  • General & Wilderness First Aid
  • CPR & Rescue Breathing

Youth Protection Training

Youth Protection Training (YPT) is mandatory for all adults before participating in Troop 506B or 506G activities. YPT certification is available online at Scouting.org. Note that new users must first create an account using their nine-digit BSA membership ID number in order to record their training completions. Contact our Parent Committee Chair if you do not know your BSA ID number.

Onsite Training

The San Diego Imperial County Council offers local in-person training and certifications from expert instructors throughout San Diego County. Visit the council website for a list and schedule of courses at SDICBSA.org.

Online Training

Online training and certifications are available at Scouting.org. Note that new users must first create an account using their nine-digit BSA membership ID number in order to record their training completions. Contact our Parent Committee Chair if you do not know your BSA ID number.
